Show Notes (upon which the questions were based):
- What’s the story behind your Half-Life 2 modification, Iron Grip? Where does your story come from?
- I’ve seen your site refer to the Iron Grip Universe? What makes up the universe of Iron Grip and how does it relate to the game?
- this mod is a combination of rts and fps — human vs ai. Does this mean that the game servers must be run under the supervision of isotx or can anyone run a server?
- it’s obvious that the FPS gameplay is one player per person. How many players control the RTS portion of the game and how is it decided who controls this group on each map load?
- map size
- When did development on this mod begin?
- Is this mod still in beta or has it been officially released?
- I see the mod goes through a lot of optimizing for fair play between players. How much work is involved in this?
- how difficult was it to teach the AI for RTS gameplay?
- what do you find to be the best method of finding bugs? If it’s the public, then isn’t it frustrating for both you and the public to have to deal with bugs?
- Switching to an RTS gametype opens the door to all sorts of possible lag issues due to the amount of visuals being displayed all at once. Was lag a difficult situation to handle?
- Was there another aspect of development that was more difficult to deal with?
- Who is on the Iron Grip team?
- Are you still looking for mod members?
- Did you at anytime work with the assistance of the developers of Half-Life 2, Valve Software?
- What does it take to start and manage a modification?
- I see that you had some great publicity in some major magazines such as Computer Gaming World and PCGamer. Was it them who contacted you for the interview or was it a surprise when it was released?
- What suggestions do you have for those interested in starting a mod themselves?
- Do you have anything new planned for us in the near future?
- Are there any Easter Eggs that we should look for?
